Our Story

## It started under a neem tree

We grew up in a small village where the day began with the sound of the hand pump and ended with stories under the neem tree in our courtyard. There was no jewellery shop for miles. But there was our grandmother's tin box.

Inside it, wrapped in an old cotton dupatta, were the few pieces she owned: a thin gold chain from her wedding, a pair of earrings she'd worn to every festival for forty years, and a little silver ring that had been her mother's. She would open that box only on special days, and every piece came with a story.

*"Jewellery isn't about how much it costs,"* she used to say. *"It's about who you were when you wore it."*

## The years in between

Like many families from our village, we left home to find work in the city. We took small jobs, shared small rooms and sent most of what we earned back home. There were months when we counted every rupee, and festivals we celebrated over a phone call because the ticket home was too expensive.

On those hard days we would think of that tin box. Of how a simple chain could make our grandmother stand a little taller. Of how every woman deserves to feel that way, not only on the day of her wedding but on an ordinary Tuesday.

## Why Lyza exists

In the city we saw two kinds of jewellery: real gold that most families could only buy once in a lifetime, and cheap pieces that turned black within weeks. There was nothing in between, nothing beautiful, honest and made to last that a girl from our village could buy with her first salary.

So we started Lyza, with a little savings and a lot of courage.

Every Lyza piece is plated in thick **18K gold**, made **anti-tarnish**, and kept **nickel-free** so it's gentle on skin. We design it to be worn every day, to office and college, to weddings and to the chai stall, and to still look beautiful years later.

## Still the same family

Today, Lyza ships across India. Our team is still small, and many of us come from towns and villages just like ours. Every order is checked and packed by hand, and every note we receive from you is read aloud at our morning chai.

When you wear Lyza, you carry a little of that tin box with you, and a promise from our family to yours.

**With love,**
**The Lyza family**
